Built for a family of two, one of Light-Year’s major adventures will be to witness the upcoming total solar eclipse passing over North America in 2024. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. As a result, the sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.

Sitting on a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170 chassis, Light-Year features a medium galley kitchen, including an overhead microwave alongside enclosed cabinetry, a Paperstone countertop, an Isotherm refrigerator, an upgraded sink and faucet, a flip-up prep table, and an induction cooktop. Hidden next to the galley is a Thetford Curve storage/closet with a removable face and lift-up top. The potty is permanently secured and usable in this space. In the back of Light-Year, the couple may rest in comfort on a raised 3-panel bed. Below the bed are two cozy opposing dinette bench seats. Perfect for sharing a meal or quickly transforming the space into an additional sleep space. In addition, these seats are a great place to enjoy the 32” wall-mounted TV.

Powering Light-Year on its cross-country journeys and back are 630Ah lithium-ion batteries, a 2000W magnum inverter with ion gauge display, 280XP high amp secondary alternator, and a rooftop solar system with (2) 130W panels. An Agile “No Rub” Front Tire Fender fits upgraded 17” BFGoodrich K02 tires with Black Rhino Warlord wheels perfectly. An Agile Off-Road Ride Improvement Package easily handles various terrain and off-grid conditions. When at their destination, it’s time to pull out the rear gear glider with bike mounts.
