Sundowner

Dreamt of by and built for a young family of three and their pup, Woody, they can’t wait to share adventures and faraway destinations together, all while still having some comforts of home. Sundowner, a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170 EXT Dually, is ready for excursions from sunup to, well, sundown.

Sileather Premier Pearl on the ceiling and cab headliner make Sundowner feel even more open and spacious. Even with a full-sized enclosed aluminum shower, there’s still lots of space for everyone to move, stretch out, and relax. Opposing benches with custom cushions crafted from Sunbrella’s Principle Lagoon fabric creates a space for the family to gather for a meal while easily converting into additional sleeping space with hidden folding panels. Flares on either side of the build create additional side-to-side sleeping on the raised 2-panel bed with a custom mattress. Sundowner’s 42” medium galley kitchen includes a rectangular deep under mount sink with pull-down faucet, Vitrifrigo DW 180 RFX stainless-steel refrigerator, overhead microwave, and overhead cabinets with magnetic undersides. (This makes for a perfect place to store our koozies.)

The lights never go out on Sundowner. This build sports 630Ah of lithium-ion battery power, a 2000W magnum inverter with an ion gauge display, 280XP secondary alternator, and a rooftop solar panel. Stay charged up thanks to (5) 110V outlets and (5) USB-C/USB outlets. Warm cabin air is pumped in using a Webasto Air Top EVO 55 Diesel Heating System. Cabin and exterior water connect to a 32-gallon freshwater tank and are efficiently heated by an Espar Hydronic Plus Evo 55 Heating System. Dually Method 901 wheels and BFGoodrick K02 Dually Oversized wheels work nicely with an Agile “No Rub” Front Tire Fender and Agile’s RIP Kit for the smoothest ride over bumpy terrain.
