Hauling friends, family, and gear to and from the mountains is Transporter, a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144.

Unique to Transporter’s interior are four removable and recessed captain’s chairs. This makes traveling with up to six people possible. In addition, a removable Lagun table makes for desk activities like route finding and computer work all possible while on the road. With captain’s chairs removed, Transporter transforms quickly into a three-panel raised bed platform with a custom mattress. Overhead enclosed cabinetry and exoskeleton cabinets offer storage solutions for gear, clothes, snacks, and more.

Powering Transporter from slopes to dunes are 315Ah of lithium-ion batteries, a 2000W inverter, and a 280XP Wakespeed secondary alternator. An Espar Hydronic Heating System supplies warm water from the 19-gallon freshwater tank to the rear exterior shower. A Webasto Air Top EVO 40 Diesel Heating System runs on auxiliary power and pulls minimal fuel from the vehicle tank to heat cabin air. When the cabin seats are removed, and Transporter is hauling lots of heavy gear, its Agile Off-Road Ride Improvement Package creates enhanced suspension for a comfortable ride. Black Rhino 17″ Arsenal wheels keep BFGoodrich K02 tires in place over all types of terrain.
